Description of the attraction
Baconao National Natural Park is perhaps the most unusual place in all of Cuba and the most original amusement park in the country. The 50 km long park, declared by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve, stretches between the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Maestra mountains. It is just 20 km from the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The park became famous all over the world, first of all, for its Prehistoric Valley, Meadow of Sculptures and Baconao Lagoon. On an area covering more than 11 hectares, there are more than 200 prehistoric animals from the Stone Age in a variety of sculptural compositions. Among them are dinosaurs, mammoths, people from ancient tribes. All sculptures are life-size.
You can learn a lot of interesting things by visiting the Prehistoric Valley, so everyone is advised to take a guide with them, who will tell a lot of interesting facts from the life of the ancients. And don't forget about sun protection, as there is no shade in the valley at all. You must have a hat and a supply of water. In addition to viewing the exhibits in nature, you can get acquainted with the history of human evolution by visiting the Museum of Natural History.
