Description of the attraction

The Museum of the Honored People's Artist of Russia Morozov Alexander Ivanovich is located in the city of Ivanovo on Bagaeva Street, 57. The museum is located in a one-story house built of wood. The total area provided for the exposition is 154 sq. m, while the number of halls is five. The wooden house was built in 1910 in the very center of Ivanovo. The owner of the house was a nobleman from Ivanovo-Voznesensk, an Austrian by ancestral roots - Auer Ludwig Pavlovich.

In the middle of 1928, the house passed into the possession of a doctor named Vikhman Mikhail Savelyevich. It is known that for a long time the artist Morozov was on friendly terms with the Vikhman family, which were maintained throughout his life, because it was in this house that Alexander Ivanovich found peace and understanding. Due to such a strong affection, this particular small wooden house was chosen as a museum, and this decision was made by the artist himself, who was able to present so many beautiful paintings to his hometown.

Alexander Ivanovich Morozov was born in 1902 in the village of Votola. Ivan Kuzmich - the artist's father - worked in the city of Ivanovo in the production of Gandurin as a simple worker and could visit his family only on Sundays. Morozov's mother, Milanya Ivanovna, was an ordinary illiterate woman. The Morozov family had six children. The entire childhood of the young artist passed among the beautiful Russian nature, under the influence of which he had a desire to embody her landscapes in his paintings.

As soon as the family moved to Ivanovo, his father died. After that, Alexander was sent to an orphanage, where his talent for drawing was appreciated. Soon Morozov was sent to study at the art school of Baron Stieglitz, where he studied for 3 years.

In 1922 the artist left for Moscow and entered the Faculty of Arts. At the institute, Morozov's work was appreciated by KN Istomin. In 1930, Alexander Ivanovich graduated from the university. At this time, he gets a room on Maslovka. Already in 1935, his first personal exhibition was organized.

In the spring of 1936, Morozov worked in the village of Perkhurovo, where he painted picturesque countryside landscapes. It is worth noting that for 3 years the artist lived near the Volga, where many unique works were created. It was from this time that a genuine interest in the work of the famous master of painting in the future began to appear, because even artists of the older generation evaluated his work as a manifestation of his outstanding talent and personal worldview.

As for the museum exposition, it is represented by a memorial and an artistic one. It presents 74 of the most varied works of graphics and painting, which gives an extensive idea of the artist's style and manner of work, because his work is "for all time."

The museum has a rich memorial fund, which contains authentic items that are clearly marked within the framework of the exposition, presenting the main aspects of the artist's life, in which creativity and self-realization took the main place. Photos, personal belongings, documents, installations, as well as numerous audio and video recordings fully reveal a passionate and distinctive personality, which is characterized by an individual and vivid character. Stage costumes, sculptural works, as well as unique musical instruments tell the story of the famous painter's versatile hobbies.

As for the professional activities of the museum, the main focus of its work is excursions. The museum offers to organize a variety of family and corporate events: Maslenitsa, Easter, New Year; matinees for young people and children, as well as memorial evenings, listening to audio recordings and a fascinating viewing of videos telling about the personality of Alexander Ivanovich Morozov.
