There are enough large ski resorts in the world. In Canada, this includes Whistler Blackcomb, which covers an area of 3,307 hectares. In the United States of America, the title of the largest ski center belongs to the town of Vail in Colorado. Even Africa has identified the largest base for skiing. It is located in Morocco, in the Atlas Mountains. But most of our compatriots choose resorts in Europe for their winter holidays. It is there that the largest ski resort in the world, the Three Valleys, is located.
Three valleys, seven cities
Ski region The Three Valleys, or Trois Valleys, is not one city, but seven ski resorts, united into one: Courchevel; Brides-les-Bains; Meribel; La Tania; Saint Martin; Le Menuire; Val Thorens. The Three Valleys region is located in the French Alps. Thanks to slopes of various difficulty levels and several hundred lifts, it unites three valleys into a single whole: Les Alu; Saint-Bon; Belleville.
Features of the largest ski resort in the world
The total length of trails in the Three Valleys resort is 600 km. The skiing season here begins in December and ends in April. Good snow cover is created with 1250 snow cannons. You can move between the resorts of the region directly on skis, going down the slopes, driving some distance to the nearest ski lift and climbing it to a new city. It is physically impossible to explore all the slopes in one vacation, so tourists who have come to the largest ski resort in the world at least once come back here again and again.
Each resort in the Three Valleys ski center has its own advantages over the others.
Valley Saint-Bon
The Saint-Bon Valley is famous for the ski resorts of Courchevel and La Tania. Everyone has probably heard about Courchevel, the most fashionable resort in the world. It consists of four village stations located at different levels (from 1300 meters above sea level to 1850 meters). The resort offers slopes for beginners as well as dangerous, black runs for advanced skiers. However, people come to Courchevel not only for skiing. It is famous for the abundance of a variety of exquisite entertainment. There are gourmet restaurants, a cinema, art galleries, famous nightclubs, boutiques of famous firms. Courchevel hosts some of the funniest parties in the Three Valleys, with an exquisite crowd.
Another resort in the Saint-Bon Valley - La Tania - is suitable for those who want to save money on accommodation. True, there is a meager apres ski, but tourists can always go to neighboring Courchevel for entertainment.
Valley Les Alu
Brides-les-Bains and Méribel are the main centers of the Les Alu Valley, which is also part of the largest ski resort in the world. Brides-les-Bains is known for its convenient location, the Olimp cable car, which takes vacationers to neighboring resorts in less than half an hour, thermal springs and a clinic offering many relaxing treatments.
Meribel is located in the center of the Three Valleys region, so it is the easiest to get to any trails from it.
Belleville Valley
The Belleville Valley offers tourists three large resorts: Saint-Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. Saint-Martin is a hamlet with wooden chalets that could be pictured on a Christmas card. Here you can not only go skiing, but also master the management of dog sleds, learn how to skate or snowshoes.
Les Menuires and Val Thorens are famous sports centers, famous for the most difficult black slopes on the slopes of Mont de la Chaumbre.
