To Prague from Rome by train
There are no direct trains from the capital of Italy to Prague in the schedule of railway companies, and therefore you can only get there with transfers - through Venice and Munich or through Vienna. The second route is simpler and shorter and the travel time is approximately 19 hours.
The central railway station of the Italian capital is called Roma Termini:
- It is located at Piazzale dei Cinquecento, 00185 Rome.
- The station is closed for sanitary time from 1.30 to 4.30.
- While waiting for their train, passengers can use the services of a 24-hour luggage room, dine in a cafe or buy souvenirs. The shops at the station sell breakfast cereals and drinks for the journey. At special points you can exchange currency, and withdraw cash from the card at ATMs.

The capitals of the Czech Republic and Italy are separated by 1,300 kilometers and a bus trip along this route takes almost a day. But thrifty tourists are ready to endure some inconveniences, because the cost of this type of transfer is much more democratic than train tickets.
The most popular companies are:

Despite the long journey, passengers on European buses note a high level of comfort on such trips. Each chair is equipped with power outlets for recharging phones. The bus station in Rome, from where all international buses leave, is called Tiburtina and is located in the northeastern part of the city. The railway station of the same name is located nearby. Choosing wings
The 1,300 kilometers between Prague and Rome is a good reason to pay attention to the air traffic. European low-cost airlines often offer inexpensive tickets and it is possible to get from the Italian capital to the Czech capital on the wings of Ryanair, for example, for as little as 52 euros. Wizz Air offers tickets for 65 euros, and during the period of special promotions, the cost of the transfer is only 40 euros round trip.
Rome International Airport is named after Leonardo da Vinci, and the old-fashioned name is Fiumicino. It is located just half an hour from the city center. The Leonardo electric trains departing from Termini Station and the Tiburtina trains from the Tiburtina Station will help you to get there.
After landing at the Prague airport. Vaclav Havel, do not rush to spend money on a taxi. The airport is located just 17 km from the capital and you can get to the city from there by bus and metro. At the exit from the terminal, take bus lines 119 or 100 and continue to the terminal station of the metro line A. It is called Nádraží Veleslavín. The entire transfer will take no more than half an hour.
The car is not a luxury
Traveling from Rome to Prague by car will take about 14 hours. When going on the road, remember the need to strictly adhere to the traffic rules on the autobahns of Europe. Violators face very serious fines.
The cost of gasoline in the Czech Republic and Italy is approximately 1.15 and 1.65 euros, respectively. To save money, look for gas stations located near outlets or large shopping centers. This way you can refuel your car for about 10% less.
To travel by car in some European countries, you need to buy a vignette. It is a special permit for toll roads. Check if vignettes are required for the roads of the countries that you have to cross on the way. Vignettes are sold at border checkpoints and gas stations.
Remember that parking in European cities is paid, and finding a parking space in old city centers is very difficult, so carefully weigh the pros and cons before setting off on a road trip.
