As statistics show, today the Czech Republic is the most popular among immigrants from Russia, and among its settlements, undoubtedly, the beautiful capital, Golden Prague, is in the lead. It is quite easy to immigrate here, especially if you have education and profession, as there is an interest in qualified specialists. The question of how to obtain Czech citizenship is much more complicated, the process requires compliance with certain important conditions, time and does not guarantee success.

How can you get Czech citizenship?

Living in the Czech Republic for a number of years has been one of the most important conditions for acquiring citizenship. Therefore, many immigrants start by applying for a residence permit. This can be done quite simply using one of the following reasons: family reunification; Work Visa; individual entrepreneur license; student visa; company registration.

Reunification can take place for various reasons, for example, reunification by a relative, with a citizen of the Czech Republic, with a person who has arrived at a permanent place of residence or with a residence permit, with a relative to organize a joint business.

A work visa guarantees the acquisition of a permanent residence, and after 2, 5 years, a stable job and a salary, in the future this will become the basis for obtaining citizenship. A student visa is issued to young people for study, unfortunately, it is short-term, after graduation it is difficult to extend it; to acquire a permanent residence and possible citizenship, you must wait at least 10 years.

An individual entrepreneur license has advantages - you can get permanent residence in five years, immediately take your family with you. Cons - paying taxes even in the absence of income, medical insurance in advance for six months, registration with tax and trade authorities.

The majority of citizens who come with visas will receive permanent residence in the Czech Republic in five years, and this gives reason to think about the next important step - obtaining citizenship. You can ask for it based on various reasons:

  • period of residence with permanent residence status - at least 5 years, for former residents of countries belonging to the European Union - at least 3 years;
  • the place of birth is the Czech Republic, and the term lived in the country is more than 10 years;
  • the spouse has Czech citizenship;
  • the move was due to adoption;
  • there is an invitation from the Czech government, and the move took place before December 31, 1994;
  • there is an official refugee status, and it is registered in the republic;
  • outstanding achievements in various areas of the economic, cultural and social sphere.

Conditions for acquiring Czech citizenship

Unfortunately, the statistics give sad numbers, of all European countries, the Czech Republic shows the least loyalty to immigrants. Every second person who applies for the issue of the citizenship of the country is refused. At the same time, the list of necessary conditions is not so long and complicated, many positions are identical to those that can be found when applying for citizenship in many countries of the world.

The main positions are well known - material independence, that is, work, stable income, no debt. The second important block is a high degree of integration into Czech society, which implies knowledge of the state (Czech) language in accordance with level B, passing a test with questions from history, geography, social studies. Naturally, permanent residence in the territory of the Czech Republic, that is, it is allowed to leave the country for up to 2 months (without giving a reason), up to 6 months (with a good reason).

The list of documents required to apply for Czech citizenship is longer. It includes - a questionnaire, which is filled out by employees of the Regional Office, together with the applicant. The second interesting block required by the law is the characteristics, which must be prepared by the city council of the settlement in which the potential citizen lives, and the specialists of the Krai department.

An important document will be a certificate of income, and it must indicate the income received by the resident over the past three years. Minor applicants are not required to submit financial information. There are exceptions to the submission of a certificate of the results of a language exam. Exempt from passing the language exam are persons who are under 15 years of age and over 65 years old, disabled and educated in local educational institutions.

In case of refusal of citizenship the next time, you can submit a new application only after 2 years.
