Russian tourists have studied East Asian resorts up and down, which is why many of them again turned their eyes to the west. But it is not European countries that attract their attention, but those located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, for example, Tunisia, because its resorts have a special attraction. But which is better - Suss or Hammamet, I would like to find out.

Sousse or Hammamet - who is the first?

Both resorts are good, but very different from each other, Sousse has received a beautiful definition from tourists "pearl of the coast", it is a young, dynamically developing resort, which is focused on young, active tourists. Hammamet has its own beautiful title - "the most respectable" resort, which guarantees a European-class vacation.

It is these characteristics that make it clear to the tourist what is the main difference between the two popular Tunisian resorts. Let's compare hotels, beaches, entertainment and attractions of Hammamet and Sousse.

Beaches and hotels

Since Sousse is a youth resort, there is no need to look for luxurious, comfortable hotels with 4-5 * within the city limits, their location is in a small resort located nearby - Port el-Kantaoui. The most prestigious hotel in the city has a 4 *, young people prefer cheaper options, because in fact a room is needed to have a little rest, wash and change clothes. Most of the day (and night too) young people spend in beach activities and parties. The beaches are sandy, the most beautiful of them are located in Port el-Kantaoui.

The Hammamet resort is conventionally divided into two halves, one of them, in fact, the city, the second, Yasmine-Hammamet, is a tourist area where hotels are located, and you can equally find hotels from 3 to 5 *. The beaches are located across the road, their characteristics are amazing cleanliness, very fine, white sand, a gentle entrance to the sea, a small drop in the seabed.

Thalassotherapy

The leader in this industry is undoubtedly Hammamet, all the largest hotels have their own spa centers, and thalasso is on the list of the most popular services. There is a separate complex with several pools filled with seawater and about 100 massage rooms.

In Sousse, at large 4 * hotels, thalassotherapy rooms and spa centers also work. But the system of treatment and recovery based on sea water and algae is not the main component of recreation at this resort.

Entertainment and attractions in Tunisia

Each of the resorts of Tunisia is ready to offer its guests not only a beach pastime, but also other entertainment, as well as excursion routes. In Sousse there is Medina (Old City), along its perimeter there is a fortress wall, which is well preserved. Inside there are ancient mosques, catacombs, and a market.

Other historical attractions in this resort attract the attention of the Ribat, a medieval fortress, the city museum keeps many artifacts that tell about the long and complex history of the settlement, ancient mosaics, statues and masks are kept here. There is entertainment for the children's audience: an amusement park, a botanical garden, a water park.

Nightlife in Sousse is in full swing, there are many entertainment centers and complexes, bowling. There is a discotheque zone in Sousse, this resort may be suitable because it has the largest disco area in Africa. A golf club is organized for guests with wider financial possibilities.

Hammamet is a resort that offers attractions and entertainment for all tastes. A walk around the city will reveal many pages of the ancient history of the city. Old Medina is no less interesting than in Sousse; there is also a fortress and a museum of the history of Hammamet.

Of the interesting objects, the house of Georg Sebastian, in the garden located behind the house, is an amphitheater, which organizes various musical events and festivals. You can get acquainted with the life of the ancient inhabitants of these territories in the "Medina - Mediterrania", an open-air museum, you can see how the traditional Arab Medina was organized, there is also a market where you can buy products of local artisans.

The simplest comparison of two Tunisian resorts, Sousse and Hammamet, allows you to find a lot of differences between them.

The resort of Sousse is chosen by tourists who:

  • are at a young age or consider themselves to be young;
  • do not worry too much about the lack of certain comfort;
  • dream of a variety of beach activities;
  • interested in history;
  • love dancing until the morning.

Hammamet is chosen by those who:

  • achieved a certain status in society;
  • dreams of a respectable vacation;
  • loves the most delicate sand on the beach and a gentle entrance to the sea;
  • loves cultural and historical attractions;
  • prefers interesting national souvenirs to traditional magnets and circles.
