Swift Sheung Luk Stream
In the bay of Tai Long Wan between the beaches of Sai Wan and Ham Tin, the fast and noisy waterfall Sheung Luk Stream is hidden. It is called an ideal place for organizing picnics, and the townspeople often choose here to spend the whole day in nature. The waterfall is a multi-level cascade with several natural pools.
Important information:
- From the suburb of Sai Kung by minibus route 29R, you should get to Sai Wan Beach. Walk along the beach until the river flows into the sea and follow its left bank upstream. In 15 minutes, the first cascade of the waterfall will appear.
- The entire walking part of the path will take about an hour.
- The distance from the bus stop to the waterfall is about 3.5 km.
The bride's pool
An urban legend has it that one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hong Kong got its name from a newlywed woman who drowned in its waters. The natural landmark is located near the village of Tai Mei Tuk in the vicinity of Hong Kong.
How to get there:
- Take the MTR East Rail to Tai Po Market station, where take a minibus taxi 20C to Tai Mei Tuk village.
- Then you should walk in the direction of the waterfalls for about an hour.
- On weekends and public holidays, bus line 257R runs from Tai Po Market Station directly to the Bride's Pool.
Jumping off cliffs
Any daredevil can feel adrenaline in his blood if he decides to jump into the Sheng Luk pool from a high cliff. This Hong Kong waterfall is located in Sai Kung Country Park and is surrounded by rocks of different heights, from where fans of extreme recreation dive.
Your route:
- From Sai Kung Subway Station, take minibus line 29R to Sai Wan Stop.
- From there the road leads to the beach of the same name.
- You will have to walk along the beach until the river flows into the sea and go upstream for about 500 meters.
In the land of dolphins
Admiring dolphins on the way to Man Cheung Po Falls is a common thing. They frolic in the coastal waters of the South China Sea. The magnificent waterfall is located on the southern tip of Landau Island and buses 1 and 11 will help you get there. You need to go to the Tai O stop. It is about 3 km from the waterfall.
All the waterfalls in Hong Kong are at their most abundant and picturesque during the rainy season, which begins here in April and ends in October. Most precipitation falls in August.
