Poland is not too associated with hot beaches, and therefore foreign tourists rarely tend to sunbathe and swim here. But, finding themselves on the shores of the austere and cool Baltic, many catch themselves thinking that it is its dull beauty and fresh air saturated with pine aromas that give special pleasure and even pacification. In fact, it turns out that the standard ideas about beach holidays in Poland usually differ from reality. The country not only has places for sunbathing, but all the conditions have been created for a summer vacation on the Baltic Sea to be fun and unforgettable.

Where to go to sunbathe?

The mild Polish sun makes recreation in local resorts especially suitable for those who cannot stand high temperatures. The dim beauty of the northern seaside delights the eye of fans of harmonious landscapes and lovers of cool Baltic waters framed by pine groves and snow-white dunes.

The Poles themselves prefer to sunbathe and swim not only in the world famous Sopot, but also on the beaches of other resorts:

  • Miedzyzdroje is part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the easiest way to get there is by train from Szczecin.
  • The former fishing village of Ustka has recently become a resort. Once upon a time, the Polish nobility built summer cottages on the local shores. Today Ustkinskie beaches are especially suitable for families with small children due to the gentle entrance to the water and developed infrastructure.
  • Reviews of tourists about the resort of Krynica Morska invariably contain admirable epithets. Firstly, the nature here is amazing, and secondly, the local thermal springs make it possible to combine a beach holiday in Poland with treatment and personal care.
  • Kolobrzeg is located in the north-west of the country at the confluence of the Parsenta River into the Baltic Sea. The treatment programs of local sanatoriums are based on the use of mineral waters and healing mud, and the beaches of the resort are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay.

A considerable part of tourists flock to the beaches of Gdansk in the summer, where, in addition to lazy relaxation by the water, guests will find cozy corners of the old historical center, restaurants with delicious Polish food, interesting excursions on sailing ships and profitable shopping.

Weather features of a beach holiday in Poland

Poland's climate can be called temperate in most of the country and maritime in the coastal regions. When choosing a place for a beach holiday, pay attention to the weather in Polish resorts and stock up on everything you need from clothes, shoes and sunscreens:

  • The reputation of the seaside resort of Sopot has been tested over the years. Many generations of tourists prefer its beaches and hotels as a summer vacation destination. The weather in Sopot contributes to a comfortable pastime on the beaches from June to September. The sea warms up to + 18 ° С by the beginning of summer, and the air - up to + 25 ° С. Even at the height of the swimming season, the water temperature rarely rises above + 23 ° С, while on the shore thermometers often show up to + 30 ° С in July and August.
  • In Kolobrzeg, a respectable audience is sunbathing, preferring to combine a beach holiday in Poland with treatment at thermal springs. The average water temperature at the height of the swimming season hovers around + 21 ° C. The air warms up much more strongly in July and mercury columns often cross the 30-degree mark.
  • In the last days of June, a real influx of guests begins at the Krynica Morska resort. It is then that the water in the sea reaches a stable + 21 ° С, and on land the thermometers exceed the mark of + 27 ° С.

Sochi in Polish

The most important and famous Polish resort of Sopot in many ways resembles the Russian Sochi. All conditions have been created here for a varied beach holiday, active pastime and sports.

Hotels in Sopot are presented for every taste. The resort began to be built and developed back in the 20s of the last century, and today the hotel fund is represented by old hotels, but restored according to the latest beach fashion, and modern buildings made of glass and concrete.

Prices for accommodation in the resort area of Sopot differ depending on the stardom and status of the hotel, and therefore you can find both quite budget options and luxury apartments.

In the photo of Sopot, you can see many city sights, but the most important of them is the Baltic beach. When choosing where to sunbathe, keep your own preferences in mind. If your credo is active recreation, throw a towel at the water skiing or diving equipment rentals. Golf lovers will find well-groomed courses at the resort, while bike fans can ride along the picturesque dunes on specially paved bike paths.

In unity with nature

Beach holidays in Poland at the Krynica Morska resort are usually preferred by those who appreciate the surrounding views. The nature in this part of the Baltic coast is especially charming, and the sandy beaches, framed by tall snow-white dunes and pine groves, look like they have come from advertising brochures.

Mineral water springs were found at the resort, and therefore Krynica Morska has the status of a balneological health resort.

The beaches of the town are particularly clean. They have not yet received the Blue Flag certificates, but this does not prevent their visitors from enjoying perfectly clear water and white sand.
