The waterfalls of Mexico play an important role in the local tourism business - they are all beautiful, unique and inimitable.
Copper Canyon Falls
Tourists will be interested in the following waterfalls:
- Basaseachi: The 246-meter waterfall is formed by 2 streams - they connect in high mountains, and then fall down from the walls of the canyon. The area around Basaseachi is under state protection - it is represented by harsh rocks and pine forests.
- Piedra Volada: it is 7 km away from the aforementioned waterfall, and in free fall reaches a height of more than 450 m. The best time to observe Piedra Volada is July-September, as it dries up in other months.
- Kusarare: it falls down from a 30-meter cliff, and hot springs can be found next to it.
Agua Azul
It is represented by several cascades (Agua Azul is famous for its clear blue water, which is saturated with useful minerals) - some of them are equipped with observation decks and small swimming pools (only the foot of the cascades is not suitable for swimming due to the too strong current). It is worth noting that the highest of these cascades reaches a height of 6 m. Not the best time to visit (it will cost 50 pesos) is May-September, when the water becomes cloudy with a yellowish-brown tint.
Misol Ha
This waterfall is surrounded by a rainforest and falls down from a cliff with a height of 30 m. Behind MisolHaturists will find a cave - entering there, they can admire the waterfall from a different angle (locals will offer to buy a flashlight from them, which will allow them to carefully examine the cave). Near the waterfall, you will be able to find a restaurant, a souvenir shop and cottages, one of which can be rented if desired, and a little further there are safe places for swimming.
Chipitin
To see the 80-meter waterfall and plunge into the pool (its depth is 5 m), suitable for swimming, you need to overcome a couple of slopes (tourists must have good physical fitness). The waterfall does not dry up even on the hottest days, and since it is hiding in the forest, you need to be careful when meeting its unfriendly inhabitants. Despite the fact that some daredevils make jumps into the water from a height, such a βfeatβ should not be repeated after them (this may turn out to be a dangerous entertainment for health).
Texolo
The interest of tourists in this 18-24 meter waterfall is explained by the fact that it was used for filming extreme scenes in the film "Romance with a Stone", and also several legends are associated with it (locals will tell you that you can hear the voices of dead people in the noise of the water). Important: Swimming in the Texolo pool is dangerous.
