The rivers of Morocco are the most abundant in the Maghreb.
Boo Regreg river
Bou Regreg passes through the western part of Morocco. The total length of the river is 240 kilometers. The source of the river is geographically located in the Middle Atlas Mountains, at the junction of the Oued Afsaya and Oued Gennur rivers. Bu-Regreg ends the way, dropping into the Atlantic waters in the interval between two cities - Sale and Rabat.
The quality of the water in the river is incredibly far from environmental standards.
Draa river
The bed of the Draa River flows through the northwestern part of the African continent. Its length is 1,150 kilometers with a drainage basin of fifteen thousand square kilometers.
Initially, the source of the river was located in the High Atlas Mountains at the confluence of the Dades and Asif-Imini rivers. But today the source is the El-Mansur-ed-Dahabi reservoir. The river is directed in a southeast direction, "reaching" to Tagunit. Here he decides to turn to the south-west and continues his path without change, flowing into the waters of the Atlantic (slightly north of Tan-Tan).
The waters of the river are used for irrigation quite intensively, and therefore the river brings its waters to the ocean only during the period of active melting of snow on the mountain slopes.
Muluya river
The river bed passes through the territory of the eastern part of Morocco. Mului has several origins, and they all come from the High Atlas. The path of the river goes along a deserted depression right up to the place where the river flows into the waters of the Atlantic.
The total length of the river flow is 520 kilometers. The main source of replenishment is melted snow and rain. Basically, the waters of the river are used for irrigation. A hydroelectric dam was built in the middle part of Mului.
Cebu river
The largest river in the country, crossing Morocco in its northern part. The source of the river is located in the immediate vicinity of Jabel-Beni-Azraz.
The Cebu river bed runs just five kilometers from Fez. Almost before the very confluence, it receives the waters of the Bet and flows into the Atlantic (near the city of Mehdia).
The length of the Cebu current is 458 kilometers. The river valley is distinguished by very fertile soils. And they are successfully used to grow rice, olives, grapes, citrus fruits, wheat and sugar beets.
Ziz River
Ziz carries its waters through the territories of two states - Morocco (south of the country) and Algeria (western part). The total length of the current is two hundred and twenty-eight kilometers. The main food option is melted snow and rains.
The source of Ziz is located on the slopes of the Middle Atlas. Going down, the river takes a direction to the south, bypassing the city of Garseluin. The mouth of the river is a miniature lake with no runoff, located in the sands.
