The capital of Portugal beckons travelers with its historic quarters, famous for its unique buildings; streets ideal for walking; Oceanarium (waiting for acquaintance with 450 species of marine life); the Chiado area with street markets and fine boutiques.
Belém Tower
The 35-meter tower (the architectural style of Manueline; it is worth paying attention to the decor in the form of ship, exotic and marine motifs, carved from white stone) is a symbol of Lisbon, at different times it was a fort, warehouse, customs office, prison. Today, the tower can be visited (Monday is a day off) by paying an entry fee of 4 euros.
Triumphal Arch
At the top of the arch, where anyone can take an elevator (capacity - 10 people), guests will find an observation deck (lift, costing 2.5 euros, can be done until 19:00), which can accommodate up to 35 people - there they will be given the opportunity to admire the Baixa area, the Tagus river, Commerce square and Augusta street. The arch is decorated with sculptures in which you can recognize significant people from Portuguese history, and bas-reliefs, and inside you will be able to find a hall where the history of this building is described.
Statue of christ
The 28-meter statue (it is installed on a 75-meter pedestal) is of great interest to travelers - they prefer to visit the panoramic platform in order to admire the beauty of Lisbon and the Tagus River from above.
Bridge April 25
Thanks to this suspension bridge (height - 190 m, length - more than 2200 m; lanes for automobile, pedestrian and railway traffic are open), those who wish will be able to get from Lisbon to its suburb - Almada. Important: the fare in the amount of 1.65 euros is paid only by those motorists who move north to Lisbon. And under the bridge, tourists will be able to find a marina with bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy delicious food and unforgettable views.
Lift Santa Justa
This elevator lift (each of the two lifts can accommodate 29 people, but only 15 people are taken on board during the descent, and 20 people during the ascent), the pillars of which are decorated with filigree patterns, is another symbol of Lisbon. It connects the Upper and Lower Towns vertically, helping travelers to conquer a steep slope without physical effort (the fare will cost 5 euros; open until 22-23: 00).
At the highest point of the lift line, guests will find a cafe and an observation deck (a visit to it will cost 1.5 euros), climbing up which they will be able to admire the beauty of Lisbon from a height on a spiral staircase.
