The capital of Italy is famous for the Vatican dwarf state located on its territory: travelers can get around it in just a day, visiting museums and galleries, as well as admiring the local architecture and appreciating all the delights of a Catholic shrine.
Saint Paul's Cathedral
Visitors inspecting the interior of the cathedral (the main symbol of the Vatican is famous for the altar with a passage to the crypt with the tombs of the popes) will be able to see statues, including St. foot), headstones, altars, wonderful works of art. The Sistine Chapel
The walls of the chapel are decorated with frescoes with portrait figures by Botticelli, Michelangelo and other painters (of the 16, 12 frescoes have survived; the fresco "The Temptation of Christ" deserves special attention). In addition, conclaves are held in the chapel, where a new Pope is elected by the cardinals, and a male choir functions under her.
Vatican gardens
The area of this park zone is 22 hectares; on the territory of the gardens there are springs and fountains (“Little Waterfalls”, “Eagle” and other fountains), century-old trees and rare exotic plants grow, antique sculptures and various buildings are located, in particular the Radio station and several towers. In addition, in some places of the gardens there are observation platforms, from where you can admire the magical views of the Vatican and Rome.
