The inhabitants of Ireland fought for too long for their independence from England, too many lives were given for the freedom and independence of the country and its capital. That is why Dublin's coat of arms contains such symbolic elements that remind of the recent past, including the defense of the city from the British troops.

Scientists call the date of the Dublin coat of arms approval - it is 1607, but the city seal appeared much earlier, back in 1229.
