Few cities in the world have such a modern and stylish heraldic sign, as, for example, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The coat of arms of Bishkek was adopted not so long ago, in 1991, after gaining the long-awaited independence. It is made in two perfectly complementary colors, silver and azure, contains a few symbols. At the same time, each of the sign-symbols occupies its own, definite place in the composition and is endowed with a deep meaning.
Composition
Indeed, the main heraldic symbol of the capital of Kyrgyzstan cannot boast of the complexity of the composition, the presence of many elements. The modern coat of arms of Bishkek consists of two fragments, each of which resembles geometric shapes.
In the background there is a rectangle, in the lower part of it is written the name of the capital of the state - "Bishkek", the upper part ends with four battlements, reminiscent of a fortress wall. This fragment of the composition is associated with the history and architecture of the city, in addition, it symbolically conveys power and strength, defenses.
In the upper part of the rectangle, in the foreground, there is an equilateral rhombus with a circle inscribed in it. Inside this perfect geometric shape is a stylized image of a snow leopard, considered a symbol of Kyrgyzstan.
New period - new coat of arms
As the history of the city has shown, the first heraldic symbol of Bishkek, then Pishpek, acquired in 1908, the following important elements were present on it:
- French shield with fields and symbols;
- a wreath of ears of wheat intertwined with the Aleksandrovskaya scarlet ribbon;
- city crown, which looked like a fortress tower.
On the shield were images of bees, three plowshares in the center in a silver belt, which reminded of the traditional occupations of the indigenous population and symbolized hard work. Also on the shield was another coat of arms, this time of the Semirechensk region, which also included Pishpek.
In 1978, a new coat of arms of the city was approved, which at that time bore the name of Frunze. Other elements appeared on it, including ears and a gear, reminiscent of agriculture and industrial development. There was also an image of a mountain landscape, an inscription with the name of the city, an ornament and a stick "Bishkek", which gave the name to the capital. With the help of this device, kumis was previously beaten.
In 1991, the capital of Kyrgyzstan once again changed its name, the city authorities decided to introduce a new heraldic symbol, which would be radically different from the previous ones and would mark the movement into the future.
