Tokyo - once a small fishing village, today is a huge metropolis with a multi-million population. A huge number of skyscrapers, an endless stream of people, flickering billboards with neon advertisements - all this can drive you crazy. This is the impression that the capital of Japan creates for a person who visits it for the first time. But don't jump to conclusions. Among this "nightmare" you will certainly find quiet corners where you can admire the traditional Japanese pagodas and flowering gardens.
Heavenly tree
Tokyo new building, which appeared here in 2012. She has already received the title of the tallest TV tower on the planet. Its height is 634 meters. After her predecessor barely endured the tremors of the last earthquake, the practical Japanese decided not to risk it and erected this modern miracle. There are a huge number of boutiques on the ground floors of the Heavenly Tree. In the future, it is planned to open a planetarium, a theater, an aquarium and an observation deck, which will be located at an altitude of 350 meters.
Ueno Park
One of the oldest city parks in the capital. The first plantings here appeared in the 19th century. Among the many temples and pagodas, there was a place for the first Tokyo zoo. Today, this menagerie, which has reached an incredibly huge size, has become home to many species of animals. The panda family is of particular interest to visitors.
The Japanese call the park a museum reserve. During the walk, you can visit the Tokyo National Museum, which has 86,000 items.
The park's alleys are surrounded by numerous sakura species, and in spring guests from all over the country come here to admire the blooming of the country's national symbol.
Imperial palace
The building, dating from the 15th century, survived fires, bombings and several coups, so only the foundation and the moat have survived from the original palace complex. Almost all buildings of the complex are closed to the public. But you can see the Eastern Garden.
Mount fuji
The Japanese always add the word "san" to the name, showing their respect for the highest mountain in the country. It rises up to 3800 meters, giving magnificent views of its snow-capped peak to the people of Tokyo.
July and August are the months when the mountain is open to the public. And every morning a lot of people rush to the top of the mountain to be the first to meet the beginning of a new day. Of course, the ascent will not be easy and it takes quite a long time, but to be the first to meet the sun's rays on the planet is a decent price for the inconvenience.
Studio Ghibli Anime Museum
"My Neighbor Totoro", "Spirited Away" - the real masterpieces of anime appeared at Studio Ghibli. It is very difficult to get to the museum. The tour can be booked with representatives of the studio, who are not too sociable, or already in the capital itself, "fight" with the automatic registration machine, which provides for communication exclusively with the help of hieroglyphs. But when you go inside, you will understand that the efforts were not in vain. Here you can watch exclusive cartoons that no one has ever seen before. They were created exclusively for museum visitors.
