The southern and eastern lands of Vietnam are washed by the waters of the South China Sea. This country owns many islands of different sizes: Kondao, Khoai, Fukui, Cham, Re, etc. In the South China Sea, there are two large archipelagos that belong to Vietnam - these are Spratly and Paracel Islands. The largest island in the country is Phu Quoc. In terms of area, it is not inferior to Singapore. Tourists most often visit Vietnam's islands such as Con Dao and Phu Quoc, which are famous for their ideal climatic conditions.

Brief geographic description

Phu Quoc Island has a developed tourist infrastructure, and Con Dao is a popular center for ecotourism and fishing. In recent years, tourism has been developing on the islands located near Nha Trang. Phu Quoc is 40 km from the mainland. The island is distinguished by wonderful sandy beaches framed by tropical forests. The Paracel Islands is an uninhabited archipelago that is formed by reefs and small islands. The Spratly Islands do not have a permanent population, but there are four airports. Today this archipelago is considered a fishing area. In addition, studies have proven that there are rich deposits of gas and oil. The ownership of the islands is disputed among themselves by Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Brunei, the Philippines and Malaysia.

The islands of Vietnam include the Con Dao archipelago, which includes the large Con Dao island and 18 small islands. This archipelago is considered the most popular tourist destination in the country. Con Dao Island is covered with tropical vegetation. The coastal areas are full of fish. There are turtles and an interesting animal, the dugong. Con Dao has about 20 magnificent beaches.

In the Gulf of Tonkin, the island of Bach Long Wee is located, which administratively belongs to Haiphong. It is of great importance for the country's fishing industry. Nearby is the small island of Lan Chau. A little further is the islet of Ngu. These islands protect the coast of the country from waves that are sometimes formed by strong winds. Ky Lao Cham islands are located near the province of Quang. Experts believe that representatives of the Cham people first landed on these islands of Vietnam in the first millennium of our era. Lishon Island belongs to the province of Quang Ngai, where garlic is planted in large quantities.

Climatic features

Vietnam is dominated by a monsoon tropical climate. In the northern regions, it approaches the subtropical. The weather is greatly influenced by the wet summer and dry winter monsoons. The air temperature during this period can reach +30 degrees. In winter, in some areas the temperature drops to 7 degrees. At the same time, high humidity remains.
