Music and painting, sculpture and architecture, philosophy and literature are the directions of the culture of Germany, which gave the world hundreds of brilliant and talented people, whose heritage, after many centuries, mankind admires.
Critique of Pure Reason
This is how the treatise of Kant, one of the most famous idealists and influential figures in the Western philosophical school, was called. German philosophy is considered the most diverse both in terms of the views presented and in the number of its adherents over several centuries. Immanuel Kant and Schelling, Hegel and Nietzsche - Germany is proud of outstanding thinkers, scientists and researchers.
Architecture seems to be a much more practical and tangible area of German culture, and its monuments cause considerable delight among all tourists. The federal government of the country is attentive to the structures created more than half a century ago and which played a significant role in the development of construction on the territory of the country. Such buildings receive the status of a historical monument and become objects of state protection:
- The Meat Bridge over the Pegnitz River in Nuremberg, built at the end of the 16th century in the late Renaissance style. At the time of construction, it was the longest single-arch bridge in the world.
- King Ludwig Bridge in Kempten. It was built in the middle of the 19th century and is famous for its supporting structures made of larch and oak. One of the oldest wooden railway bridges in the world.
- The Red Sand Lighthouse in Wangerooge at the mouth of the Weser River, which flows into the North Sea. The first in the world was built on quicksand on the high seas.
Music that has become classics
For the music lover, the culture of Germany is the work of the great classics with whom mankind met in the first third of the 18th century. The foundations of classical music were laid precisely in Germany and its progenitors were Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach. They set the direction, which was taken up by no less talented followers - Wagner, Reger and Orff, who tried to combine the classics with the national music of the inhabitants of the country. An equally important contribution to the development of world musical culture was made by the Germans who lived in Austria - Mozart, Strauss and Liszt.
The modern musical culture of Germany is represented by famous bands working in the style of hard rock, heavy metal, folk rock. No less popular are pop singers who blew up the music world in the 80s and 90s of the last century.
