Early spring in this country is capricious: sometimes warm, sometimes with chill, sand and wind of the deserts. But already from the second half of April the weather begins to return to normal, and in May real summer comes. Egypt is ready to open its arms to tourists. Going on vacation to Egypt in May, it is better to choose the resorts of Hurghada, since here it is still more comfortable than in Sharm el-Sheikh.
It is better to skip the May holidays, as the Egyptians know very well about them and, accordingly, increase the cost of the tours. Then there is a decline in price to take off again in the summer months.
May weather
Everything in Egypt these May days favors the rest of the guests of the country. There is practically no rain, so you can usefully spend time on the beach using sun protection, or go to the places of heroic glory of the ancient Egyptians.
Beach vacation
You can spend time on the seaside idly lounging on sun loungers and enjoying the warm Egyptian sun. You can take a trip to the amazing island with the strange name Utopia, or just take a ride on the sea in a boat with a transparent bottom.
Holidays
Oddly enough, Labor Day is celebrated on May 1 and in Egypt, however, it is rather modest by Russian standards and does not enjoy special attention of tourists. But another event, the timing of which depends on the Coptic Easter, attracts much more attention.
Zham en-Nessim, which means the scent of flowers and wind, is a kind of beginning of the agricultural Egyptian calendar and is celebrated everywhere. Local residents begin to prepare for it in a few months.
Festivals
Residents of the El Sharqiyah province, in northern Egypt, receive guests and participants of the Arabian Horse Festival in May. Tourists will see an unprecedented beauty spectacle: a beauty contest in which graceful horses participate, show jumping and other competitions will highlight the best Arabian horse.
Sharm el-Sheikh does not forget about the past, when on the site of the largest resort there was only a small fishing village. Every year in May, the National Fishermen Festival is held here, in which anyone can participate. The winner will be the one who catches the biggest fish.
Its festival is being organized in Dahab. For several days, each tourist can get to know more about the history and culture of the Bedouins, see crafts that existed many centuries ago, and races on ships of the desert - camels.
