The airport in Tobolsk serves only local airlines. And it is currently used as a helicopter take-off and landing site. Unfortunately, the state of the runway of the airline is such that the runway is not able to receive and service even small aircraft.
At one time, the aircraft's runway with a length of 850 meters received aircraft of the YAK-40, L-410, An-32, An-24 types. From Tobolsk daily planes were sent to remote areas of the region and the neighboring Omsk, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk regions. However, during the crisis of the 90s, the number of flights dropped sharply, and then all flights from Tobolsk stopped altogether. Currently, the runway has fallen into disrepair. A taxiway 80 meters long was built from the remains of its metal part.
Development prospects
Due to the development of the oil and gas industry and tourism in the region, the construction of the airport in Tobolsk is gaining in importance. In October 2013, Russian President V. V. Putin, who visited Tobolsk, instructed the Ministry of Transport to analyze the possibility of building a new airport in the city as soon as possible, while focusing on the relevance of the issue.
Currently, the Tobolsk administration is considering several investment programs, studying the potential passenger traffic of the future airline, analyzing the economics of the project for the construction of a new airport.
According to preliminary data, the project will require more than a million rubles. From official sources it became known that the construction company SIBUR has been identified as the general contractor for the work.
It is planned that the new airport will be able to simultaneously accommodate more than 200 thousand people.

Currently, the airline has a minimum range of services for servicing helicopters, which supply special-purpose cargo to the oil fields of the region and deliver oil workers to workplaces in remote and hard-to-reach points of the region.
Transport
From the airport to the railway station of Tobolsk, the movement of a regular bus has been established, the route of which passes through the central streets of the city. You can also use the services of fixed-route taxis such as "Gazelle", designed for 16 seats.
