The Bulgarian airport Varna is located about 8 km from the city of the same name, not far from the small town of Aksakovo. The airport is geographically very well located in relation to the nearest resorts, so it is popular among many tourists. History

Varna Airport begins its history since 1916, when the first airport was built, which was located on the territory of the village of Chaika. Three years later, there were irregular flights from the airport to the capital of the country. And the first regular flights began to be made only in 1947. By this time, the construction of a new airport was planned, since the existing one, due to its small size, could not properly cope with its duties.

In 1972, a new, currently operating airport in Varna was built.
