The international airport in Arkhangelsk "Talaga" is located 6 kilometers from the city, in its northwestern part.
The length of the airport's runway is 2.5 km with a width of 44 meters. This allows the airline to receive wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 737 and its various modifications. The airport's capacity is more than 700 thousand passengers per year, excluding freight and postal transportation.
The airline successfully cooperates with such well-known Russian air carriers as UTair, Russia, Nordavia and foreign ones - Air Europa, Astra Airlines.
History
The airport in Arkhangelsk was created in 1942 as a military airfield under the leadership of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Rear Admiral Ivan Dmitrievich Papanin. The runway of the airfield at that time was a wooden lattice filled with gravel.
It was only in the early 60s of the last century that the airport began to be used for civil traffic. Its first passenger aircraft were AN-24, Yak-40, Il-18 and other small-type aircraft.
From 1998 to the present, air defense units of the Russian Federation have been deployed at the airport.
Currently, the airline is carrying out large-scale reconstruction. This is the first airport in the northern European part of Russia to use telescopic ladders. By 2015, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the runway and the construction of a new terminal between the two existing buildings.
In memory of the 518th Berlin Fighter Aviation Regiment, based on the territory of the airport, the MiG-31 aircraft was put into permanent parking here.

A standard set of services is presented at the airport: a mother and child room, luggage storage, post office, ATMs, payment terminals. There is a cafe and a restaurant. Cozy waiting rooms are provided for relaxation, there is a hotel. Free parking is provided on site.
Transport
Regular buses run from the airport parking lot to the city: route 12 "Airport - sea and river stations" and route 153 "Airport - Severodvinsk". Regularly, with an interval of 10 - 15 minutes, there are fixed-route taxis with a capacity of 16 passenger seats. The road will take about 40 - 45 minutes. The beginning of the movement is 06.00 am, the end is 23.00 hours. Alternatively, the city can be reached by taxi.
