Yekaterinburg airport closes the six largest Russian airport and serves more than six million passengers annually. Koltsovo Airport is located in the eponymous microdistrict of Yekaterinburg, 16 km southeast of the city center. The headquarters of the Ural Airlines are also located here.
In 1930, the airport was built as a test base for the Research Institute of the Air Force of the Soviet Union, and during the Great Patriotic War, the airline began to carry out civilian transportation. The airport infrastructure developed progressively in the middle of the last century: in the 50s, a new terminal building and the first hotel were erected. A decade later, it was replaced by a more spacious and modern one, and the constructed passenger terminal significantly increased the airport's capacity.
At the beginning of the new century, the boundaries of Yekaterinburg were revised, and the airport found itself inside the city limits. The reconstruction of the enterprise continued, and in 2009 a runway with a length of 3,025 meters was launched in Koltsovo. The new "take-off" allows to receive aircraft of almost all classes. At the same time, a modern tower was built, where the control tower was located. The last reconstruction of the airport complex included the commissioning of a passenger terminal, which allows servicing 8.4 million passengers annually. In 2015, the Skytrax research company awarded Koltsovo a high expert assessment: only two dozen airports on the planet have 4 *.
Airport complex and terminals
Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg has a complex of three terminals: domestic flights depart from "A" and land there; "B" serves international flights, and business aviation passengers use the VIP terminal. For passengers waiting for their flight - a standard set of services and entertainment:

Koltsovo business lounges are intended for passengers with business class tickets or participants in various bonus programs offered by the airport or airlines.
Hall "Izumrud" (terminal "A", 2nd floor) is decorated in the style of Bazhov's fairy tales and its design reminds of the natural resources of the Urals. Izumrud's designers were awarded an architectural prize. Visitors to the lounge can look forward to a special menu of drinks and snacks, as well as wireless internet, showers and the latest press. Shops and cafes
At the Yekaterinburg airport, retail outlets and catering establishments are open around the clock, where you can pass the time while waiting for departure. Parking
There are several parking lots at Koltsovo airport, where you can leave your car both for a short time and for a long time.
Short-term parking assumes hourly payment, which is carried out using bank cards at the terminals at check-out or in cash at the terminals located in the terminal building. The short-term car park is free of charge for the first 15 minutes of your stay.
Long-term parking is possible at parking lots P5 and P6. They are 5 and 10 minutes walk from the passenger terminal. The parking capacity is 90 and 250 places, respectively. Payment is made by bank cards.
There is also a parking lot near the VIP terminal for 60 cars.

Transport from Koltsovo airport
You can get to the city from the passenger terminals by taxi and public transport. The stop of city buses and fixed-route taxis is located at the exit from terminals "A" and "B", and the train departs from the railway station on the street. Bakhchivandzhi, which is a few dozen meters north of the terminals. Bus N1 goes to Yekaterinburg railway station. The schedule is every half hour from 06.08 to 23.41.
Route taxi N01 starts operating at 05.30 and ends at 23.30. The interval of movement is 30 minutes. The final stop in the city is the railway station.
In the morning you can get to the railway station by the Koltsovo Express train N6037. Departure at 08.28, travel time - 40 minutes. At 20.26, train N6039 runs from the airport to the station. The price of a train transfer is from 15 to 60 rubles, depending on the stop that the passenger needs.
