For many decades Germany has been attracting tourists with its natural beauty, the opportunity to touch the masterpieces of world art in its many art galleries and museums, Christmas markets and sales and, of course, ski resorts, of which there are several dozen in the German Alps. The gorges and gingerbread towns of fabulous beauty, where life flows slowly, give lovers of fresh air and winter sports a unique opportunity to combine business with pleasure.

The main distinguishing features of the local slopes are special grooming, modern equipment and competent markings, allowing every boarder or skier to find their own descent suitable for their mood and level of preparation. The infrastructure of the resorts and the excellent service in hotels and restaurants does not cause the slightest criticism even among the most advanced travelers, and the prices for equipment rental, skill lessons and ski passes allow German resorts to be positioned as affordable for a wide variety of guests.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen health resort

The most popular and prestigious resort in Germany is undoubtedly the resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located in the German Alps. It hosted the Olympians back in 1936, but even today its tracks serve as an arena for serious battles at world-class championships. The resort is located just 120 km from Munich Airport, and the total number of its tracks is 62 of the most different categories of difficulty. The season on the slopes of Mount Zupspitze, which is considered the highest in the country, usually starts in the first days of the calendar winter and lasts until early May.

Snowboarders and skiers of all skill levels choose Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but its slopes are most suitable for beginners and intermediate boarders. Very green athletes can take several skiing lessons, since every ski school in the resort has Russian-speaking instructors. For beginners, there are several special trails with a total length of 15 km.

For mid-level athletes in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the varied network of slopes in the Garmisch Classic zone and on the mountain plateau is more suitable. About 40 km of trails, marked for freeriding, will allow you to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the absence of crowds without interference. The resort has a fan park, which even hosted the Bavarian Slopestyle Cup in 2011. The total area of the park is one thousand square meters and its condition is monitored by a team of professionals. There are numerous boxes, rails and kickers that will allow you not to repeat or stop all day long.

At the end of March, a freestyle camp opens on the territory of this fan park, within which everyone is given free lessons by international masters. Sponsors offer free tests of the latest equipment, and competitions with prizes are organized for advanced ones. They don't forget about spectators in the camp either: here you can comfortably “cheer” on sun loungers at a barbecue.

Prices for ski passes are set at around 40 euros per day. A subscription ticket for six days of skiing will cost 200 euros.

Berchtesgaden spa

The Germans themselves love the resort of Berchtesgaden more than others. It is comfortably located on the border with Austria in the area of Mount Watzmann, which soared into the sky at 2713 meters and is the silver medalist in the competition of German peaks in height.

There are six different ski areas in this area, located at a sufficient distance from each other. The main one - Jenner - has in its arsenal international-level tracks and slopes for those who can safely consider themselves an average athlete. A ski school is open here, where you can take lessons from Russian-speaking instructors. The rest of the ski areas are most suitable for families. There are no particularly difficult slopes here and both children and those who first saw the board can try their hand.

The resort is located quite low, and therefore the season is much shorter here than on other slopes in Germany. Artificial lighting in the Getschen area allows you to arrange evening skiing. All zones are connected by ski bass, but their sufficient scattering from each other does not allow covering more than one per day.

Kurort Oberstdorf

One of the most beautiful alpine regions, the Oberstdorf resort has the longest slope in the country, the length of which is 7.5 km, the most modern circular lift in Germany, equipped with six-seater cabins, and one of the best fan parks in the alpine mountains. In 2005, the resort hosted the world championship in skiing sports, and the people of Germany consider it the best, most comfortable and enjoyable for a winter holiday with the whole family.

The air is especially clean here, as part of the Oberstdorf skiing region is included in the area free of road transport. The maximum height from which you can descend with the breeze right into the heart of the village is over 2220 meters. Pistes for intermediate skiers and boarders have been set up in the Felhorn area.
