Two places in Thailand have long become famous and popular with Russian tourists. They are very similar in terms of tourist offer, but they also have their own peculiarities, zest and distinctive features. Therefore, if you have planned a trip to Thailand and cannot decide where exactly, study their differences to find out which is better to choose - Krabi or Koh Samui?
Two provinces
Both places are provinces of Thailand, but Krabi, unlike Koh Samui, had a tourist fame earlier. For some reason, this particular resort was chosen by tourists and in no way give the palm to other Thai resorts. Maybe the whole point is that it is here that you can see karst caves and amazingly beautiful grottoes, rugged coastline and emerald jungle, as if descended from a picture from the movie "Avatar". A distinctive feature of this island is the majestic cliffs.
However, Samui can be compared with Krabi's beauty. There is no less transparent gentle sea, which embraces the cleanest coast with lagoons, white beaches with corals and clear water. Thailand's third largest island is as attractive to tourists as the blessed Krabi.
Krabi and Koh Samui beaches
Of course, for the sake of what they go to Krabi and Koh Samui - these are, first of all, the beaches. They are more numerous, vast, beautiful. The sand there is mostly fine, although there are beaches with small shell rock in Krabi. Among the disadvantages of the beaches of Krabi, tourists call the lack of sun loungers and umbrellas. That is, such a wild merger with nature. So you have to look for a place under the trees and use hard bedding for lying.
There is no such problem in Koh Samui, there are many different beaches, which are equipped in different ways. Big Buddha Beach, for example, has sun loungers, solid awnings, and other attributes of ordinary beach life. By the way, there are excellent spa resorts for those who like to improve their health according to traditional Thai methods. And for those who prefer active rest, there is something to choose from: surfing; windsurfing; Beach volleyball; diving.
Weather
It is warm in Thailand almost all year round, and this applies to both Koh Samui and Krabi. It is comfortable to relax here even out of season. Although the season is also a relative concept. If someone likes the heat above 40 degrees, then it happens in Krabi at the end of March and in April. Koh Samui is a little cooler - up to 35, but also exhaustingly hot. But in the rainy season it sometimes does water, but this does not mean that the resort freezes. The rains pass, the sun comes out, and the rainy season turns into one of the fertile pores in this unusual corner of the world.
Hotels - where is it cheaper?
In general, vacation in Krabi is considered one of the most expensive in Thailand. And Samui in this sense is not much different from this province. Krabi is definitely some of the most expensive hotels, but they are also the most upscale ones. Here the cleanest sea and the most pronounced tropical nature, therefore, attracts lovers of exotic things, including those from Russia. It is no coincidence that on the streets of Krabi you will find a huge number of signs in Russian, and the menu in the restaurant is in your native language. This interest of Russians also largely determines the price - the higher the demand, the higher the prices.
Shopping
More large supermarkets in Krabi stores. It is here that not only large shopping centers are concentrated, but also many warehouse stores, including those for household purposes. In parallel, the trade of small shops and small shops is very developed. But in Samui there are a lot of small stores, and there are just one or two serious supermarkets from the chain. But grocery, vegetable, and most importantly, fruit markets with exotic specimens are in huge numbers in both provinces.
Resort cuisine
Naturally, the cuisine is Thai. Huge variety of pebbles to choose from, inexpensive street food is everywhere. The dishes are based on the widespread use of vegetables. Chicken, shrimp, local noodles. A typical fast food dish costs about 40 baht (baht - 1 ruble). So there is no problem of what and where to eat neither in Koh Samui nor in Krabi. There is only one problem - everything is tasty, but very acute.
Attractions and entertainment
This is quite tense in both provinces. In the sense that there is something to see, but night entertainment is not enough. In Krabi, you can get bored already on the third day. But excursions with bathing in hot springs and a lagoon, trips to nearby islands, of course, a visit to the Bokhorani National Park, local monasteries and waterfalls will save you. Outdoor enthusiasts will love cycling and climbing lessons.
In Koh Samui, you can see waterfalls and caves, visit the oceanarium and the tiger zoo. There are some spectacular and shocking shows like the transvestite show, the snake farm and the crocodile show.
When is it worth going to Koh Samui and Krabi? You can go on another vacation here for new impressions for those who:
