Port Aventura Park

Description of the attraction

The PortAventura complex near the Spanish city of Salou was opened in 1995 and since then has become the most visited among European amusement parks. It is constantly expanding and new objects are periodically opened in it. The territory of the entertainment complex is divided into six thematic zones, representing different geographical regions and historical civilizations to the public.

Thematic zones in PortAventura:

  • Guests of the amusement park have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in other worlds and get acquainted with the most famous regions of the planet:
  • In the Mediterranean, not only attractions are concentrated, but also souvenir shops, and the restaurants of this thematic zone offer the best dishes from the countries of southern Europe.
  • Cowboys, typical streets of American cities and the atmosphere familiar from Hollywood Westerns await visitors in the Wild West.
  • Mayan rituals, ancient temples and the hot spices of traditional Central American dishes are sure signs that you are in the Mexico thematic area.
  • The traditional atmosphere of Chinatown with magic lanterns, mythical dragons and oriental flavors awaits guests in the China zone.
  • The nautical theme permeates Polynesia with its impenetrable jungle, mysterious animals and adventures in the style of Robinson Crusoe.
  • The smallest visitors to the park will find entertainment to their liking in Sesame-Aventura - the country of children, where every corner is thought out and arranged for a comfortable stay and with great love.

The best rides in the park

PortAventura visitors are offered attractions, many of which remain European record holders in height and speed, despite the fact that a quarter of a century has passed since the park was opened. For example, the Hurakan Condor in the Mexican zone has a height of 115 m, while the vertical of free fall on it is 86 m.

The real attraction of PortAventura is the Chinese attraction Dragon Khan, the route of which is 1269 m and includes eight dead loops throughout its length. All of them are completed in 1 minute. 45 sec. - a very impressive result for thrill-seekers.

After its opening, the Shambhala slides broke several European records at once: their height is 76 m, the length of the fall is 78 m, and the moving element of the attraction develops a speed of 134 km / h already on the first descent. The height of the device's smallest rise is equivalent to a seven-story building, and on it, as on all subsequent ones, the skiers lose contact with the seat - very sharp impressions are also guaranteed.

There is also a wooden roller coaster in the park, along which trolleys move; a water attraction with a mountain river and inflatable balloons and the famous Furius Baco, whose cars reach a maximum speed of 135 km / h in just 3.5 seconds.

Each themed area of PortAventura has its own performances, timed to coincide with famous holidays. On Halloween, for example, Vampire Love, Mayan Ritual and Jungle of Fear are held, and on New Year's holidays, Winter. Magic. Soap Bubbles, Christmas Gift, Magic Forest and Champions on Ice.

Aquapark in PortAventura

Part of the entertainment resort is the Costa Caribe, a huge water park with its own attractions, water slides, restaurants and shops. It is designed in the spirit of Caribbean resorts: with palm trees, sunny beaches and reggae music, so beloved on the islands of Central America.

Attractions "Costa Caribe" are designed for a wide variety of age groups of visitors. For example, "King Kahuna" is the European record holder, and the speed of free fall from a height of 31 meters reaches 6 m / s on it. Slides of the Pirate Galleon, on the contrary, are intended for the youngest guests, and on the decks of the ship children are greeted by the characters of their beloved Sesame Street.

The water park is equipped with a toboggan "Tropical Cyclone" with a 100-meter track and a slide with six tracks "Fast Race". Visitors love Sesame Beach with children's pools of varying depths and Paradise Beach with a waterfall and jacuzzi. On boats "Torrente" you can go through canals with turns and bends, and on inflatable mattresses you can conquer the river "Crazy Rio", which, despite its name, is completely calm, but abounds in various water effects.

Souvenir shops

Visitors to the park spend a lot of time in souvenir shops, each of which corresponds to the thematic area where it is located. PortAventura stores sell authentic Wild West cowboy clothing or silver Mayan jewelry. Customers will be offered tableware for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and accessories for water sports familiar to Polynesians.

The assortment of dishes in the menu of the park's restaurants is quite consistent with the regions and very organically fits into the overall thematic concept.

The best park. You need to visit the park, even if there is no such opportunity. Visited there 5 days ago. Still impressed
