Description of the attraction

The Loboc River is the main waterway of Bohol Island and one of the main tourist attractions in the province. The winding river regularly hosts small boat and boat cruises. In addition, there are several "floating" restaurants on it at once, from the sites of which visitors can admire the dense tropical forest and its inhabitants.

For a long time before the arrival of the Spaniards in the vicinity of the modern town of Loboc, the river played a significant role in its history. The inhabitants of the city have always settled along the banks of the river and ensured their existence with its help. And in the early 1980s, the idea of organizing river cruises and, thus, turning the Loboc River into a tourist attraction appeared.

Today, river cruises start in Loboc from the Loye Bridge or from the Pobbation area. Small motor boats can be hired for a very reasonable fee. While sailing, it is customary to stop at the “floating” restaurants to taste traditional Filipino cuisine and local delights. In the restaurants you can also hear traditional Bohol songs performed live.

The cruise ends at the tiny Busay Falls, where local "rondalla" songwriters are also waiting for tourists. And you can swim in the waterfall. While traveling along the river, you can often see children diving into the water from the coconut trees growing along the banks of Loboc, and local fishermen on boats. One of the interesting stops of the cruise is the farm, which contains wild chickens, turtles and pythons.
