Description of the attraction

Bad Pirawarth is a small town in the Gänserndorf district of Lower Austria. The town also includes the village of Kollnbrunn. The area of the city is only 25 square meters. km. Such a small size of the city will allow you to explore it without haste. It contains several architectural and natural sites that will be of interest to tourists. So, the local Town Hall stands in the city park of Professor Knesla, named after the famous native of Bad Pirawarth, the sculptor Hans Knesla. Some of his works can be seen on the lawns of the city park.

The main church of the town is the temple of Saints Barbara and Agatha, erected on a hill, on the site of a medieval fortification. This baroque church was built by the architect Donato Felice d'Allio in 1739-1756. A four-storey tower adjoins it from the west. The interior in the temple dates back to the third quarter of the 18th century. The organ was created by the master Christoph Erler in the years 1849-1851.

Among the attractions of Bad Pirawart is the Jewish cemetery, which is separated by a wall from the northern sector of the city necropolis. Its area is 85 sq. m. The Jewish cemetery is recognized as a monument of Lower Austria, therefore it is under state protection.

While walking around the city, tourists will find many unexpected discoveries. For example, they can see the kindergarten, which is a stately mansion with an attic built in 1893, or the Bell-ringer's House, a building with a bell tower dating back to the 19th century. In the center of the Kollnbrunn district is the statue of St. John of Nepomuk. There is also a private Museum of Old Technology in Bad Pirawarth, which is open only one day a month.
