Description of the attraction

The Khuzaifa Ibn Al-Yamani Mosque is located on Fuchik Street, in the new district of Kazan. It is surrounded by modern multi-storey buildings. The money for the construction of the mosque was provided by sponsors from the United Arab Emirates. Khuzaifa ibn al-Yamani is one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad. The mosque was named after him. This title was a condition of the sponsors. The mosque was built in 1996-1997 according to the project of the architect V. E. Belitsky.

The domed mosque has two floors. The basement has two separate entrances to the male and female halls. From the north end of the mosque there is an entrance for men. The entrance for women is on the east side of the façade. The women's prayer hall is located on the ground floor, and the men's hall is located on the second floor. The ladies' and men's lobbies contain wardrobes, ablution rooms and service areas. The Women's Hall is located in the southern half of the first floor. The northern half of the basement floor contains training rooms, a small hall and service technical rooms.

There are four square columns in the center of the hall. They carry a large octagonal lancet dome. A four-tiered minaret adjoins the northern side of the hall. Outside, it is located along the axis of the main entrance. There is a staircase around the minaret to the second floor. The minaret consists of a stepped tiered composition, which ends with an azanchi light lantern and a tent. On the north side of the mosque there is a one-story lobby. There is a sloping corner awning above the entrance.

The Khuzaifa Ibn Al-Yamani Mosque is a modern Muslim religious building. She has a traditional planning solution. Its tiered forms are organically combined with motives of oriental architecture. The appearance of the mosque is made in a strict modern manner without the use of decor.
