Description of the attraction
Those wishing to know all the delights of not only ground-based Cuba, but also its underground treasures, must visit the caves located in the Matanzas region. Among the most popular objects for excursions are the Saturn Cave, which is located near the resort of Varadero. It is not very large in size, its depth reaches only 20 meters, the archaeological drawing and the value of the pictograms here does not differ from all other karst caves in Cuba.
But Saturn's cave has one huge advantage - a small but deep cave lake. With a depth of over 17 meters, it is the most popular diving and exploration site at the Barracuda Diving Center.

If you do not like deep diving, you can simply swim in the cave lake, the water is a little cool, but very clean and has its own healing properties.
Cavers have long noticed the amazing microclimate of the cave, which is filled with both salty and fresh waters. In the late 19th century, fugitive slaves took refuge in the cave of Saturn. And during the Cuban War of Independence, the cave served as the site of an ambulance center. For this center, the cave of Saturn was chosen precisely because of its crystal clear water in the lake and underground river.
