Description of the attraction

Museum-dacha of the famous opera singer V. V. Barsovoy is located on Chernomorskaya Street in the Khostinki district of Sochi and is a landmark of this resort town, which is always popular among fans of the singer and tourists.

Valeria Barsova is a famous Soviet opera singer, People's Artist of the USSR, who, after graduating from the Moscow Conservatory, made her debut on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater, where she remained as a soloist until 1947. In April 1947, after parting with the Bolshoi Theater, Barsova went to Sochi. Here a beautiful house was built for her according to the project of the local architect N. Trishkin. It was very convenient and comfortable, both for living and for the work of this great singer. Until 1967, Valeria Barsova lived in Sochi for a long time, where she was engaged in vocal and pedagogical activities. In addition, her house became a real center of cultural and social life of this city, friends, colleagues and students often came here - L. Utesov, D. Kabalevsky, G. Ulanova, I. Kozlovsky, Z. Dolukhanova, M. Bieshu.

Valeria Barsova died in December 1967 in Sochi and was buried here at the Central Assumption Cemetery. The singer bequeathed her house to the Khostinsky district of the city of Sochi to organize a music school for gifted children here. After the death of the singer, the house, as a monument of history and culture, was taken under protection and in 1968 a children's art school was placed there. And in 1988 it was decided to open a museum of the famous singer here. All the exhibits, of which there are already about a thousand, tell about the life and work of the People's Artist of the USSR, many gramophone records with recordings of operas performed by Vlasova have survived.

Very often in the museum "Dacha of the singer Barsova" various musical and poetry evenings are held.
