Description of the attraction

Vysoky Zamok is one of the highest points of the city of Lviv (413 meters above sea level) and one of the most romantic parks in this city. Park "High Castle" is located on the Castle Hill. It is noteworthy that the first legend about Lvov in the annals of 1256 dates from the mention of this particular mountain.

Today, only a part of the wall in the southeast remains of the castle, which once existed on the mountain and served as an important defense point. Now it is just a beautiful park where you can relax in the shade of age-old trees. It consists of two tiers. The first tier is a garden and park area where you can stroll slowly along the alleys. If you look closely at the gaps between the trees, you can see a beautiful view of the city. This is a favorite vacation spot for townspeople and guests of the city, especially in hot weather. There is also a monument to Maxim Krivonos, who, with the help of the troops of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, once took possession of this fortress. It will be no less interesting to visit the artificial grotto, the entrance to which is guarded by lions from the old town hall. It was created back in 1841.

The upper tier is a fill mound with an observation deck. It is noteworthy that the remains of the fortress and nearby houses were used for the embankment of the mound, which finally destroyed the castle. Here you can admire the beautiful panorama of the city from a bird's eye view. At the top of the High Castle there is an observation deck, where benches were prudently placed for tired wanderers. In 1957, a television center was built on the top of Zamkovaya Mountain, which was crowned with a television tower two hundred meters high.
