Description of the attraction

The Citrus Garden is located next to the picturesque Faakersee lake, between Vienna and Venice in the beautiful region of Carinthia. It is a world-class citrus garden, the only one in Austria with a collection of over 210 varieties of citrus plants from all over the world.

The botanical garden contains ancient plant species from the 16th century from the Medici collection, rare varieties and exotic fruits from the Far East, as well as selective novelties from Australia. The area of the garden is about 5,000 square meters, partly indoors, which allows you to walk in the garden regardless of the meteorological conditions.

Outdoor walks take you through a beautifully designed Mediterranean garden with old citrus trees, palms, olive trees and many other Mediterranean plants. It offers guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy the aromas. The citrus garden delights visitors with new paths of an unusual kind, recreation areas, ponds.

Guests have the opportunity to take part in lectures on botany, citrus care, and taste the garden's products, including iced lemon tea, orange cake, lemon cake, marmalade.

The Citrus Garden has its own venue for various events. A huge hall with a stone floor and teak tables for 150 people is rented for rent. Here you can celebrate a birthday, a wedding, hold an exhibition or botanical seminar, or even a ball. The garden also hosts professional and amateur workshops on plant care, gardening and landscaping.
