Description of the attraction
China's End of the World is one of the most visited places in Hainan Island and Sanya City. The park is located about 25 km west of Sanya. This place can hardly be called a simple park. In fact, this is a picturesque coast of the sea of white sand, on which huge smooth stones are randomly scattered. The boulders are very similar to overturned abandoned boats, in places submerged in clear clear water.
According to ancient Chinese legends, this place was visited by the mythical king Sun Wukong during his travels. When he saw a bizarre cluster of large smooth stones, he was struck by the indescribable beauty of this place and called it the Edge of Heaven.
If you look closely, many stones have their own name. For example, on the largest boulder, 10 meters high, there are hieroglyphs confirming that this place is the southernmost point of China or the End of the World. One of the stones reads "The Stone of Wealth". By the way, there is a small image of this stone on the 2 yuan banknote. There are also stones "Labyrinth for Lovers", "Stone - Broken Heart" and others.
For the Chinese themselves, this place is very romantic. It is said that artists and writers used to come here to find inspiration for their works. Nowadays, many Chinese couples come to the park to confess their love to each other and watch the sunset together.
There is a marine zoo not far from the park. The distance between them is literally 300 meters. At the zoo, you can watch the inhabitants of the sea through thin glass. In addition, the park has a unique collection of exotic birds from all over southern China. Now there are over a thousand species of birds.
Park "Edge of the World" tourists are advised to visit in the evening, when the sunset is approaching. The sun sets, and its glare fabulously shimmers on the waves. The seashore becomes even more mysterious, and one gets the impression that it really is the end of the earth.
