The Golden Ring is one of the most popular routes in the central part of the Russian Federation; it touches the most ancient and beautiful cities. It is surprising that not only Vladimir, but also his regional centers are included in this ring. Walking around Suzdal shows that it is not for nothing that this small cozy town is part of an important tourist route.
Walking along Suzdal white stone
The city with its amazing architecture reminds a visiting visitor of the magnificent scenery for some historical film. Imagine the surprise of a traveler when he realizes that all the buildings actually date back more than one century. The stunning Suzdal landscape, consisting of four main colors, will forever remain in memory:
- gold of numerous temples and churches of the city;
- snow-white color, in which the walls of the ancient Kremlin are painted;
- greenery of the surrounding meadows;
- azure of the local river Kamenka.
Surprisingly, the local authorities managed to preserve many ancient monuments, abandon industrial enterprises and high-rise buildings that could hide such beauty. The city's budget for the most part consists of receipts from the tourism sector, therefore, the corresponding infrastructure is developed.
The Suzdal Kremlin is one of the main attractions, but not the only one in the city, included in the famous UNESCO list. In addition to the ancient white-stone walls, intended to protect the city from ill-wishers and enemies, the Museum of Wooden Architecture, as well as the complex of buildings of the Spaso-Euthymius Monastery, are under the protection of the world organization.
The Kremlin itself is not only the walls around the historical core of the city, the excursion also includes visits to the following objects: The Bishops' Chambers; the oldest church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the city; Nikolskaya Church.
The museum, which contains masterpieces of wooden architecture from the vicinity of Suzdal, is also on the list of important excursion points. In this museum you can get acquainted with huts and mills, barns and temples, which were erected by local craftsmen from wood and decorated with carvings. The fact that the complex lives a full life today is announced by the bell chime, which can be heard several times during the day.
A tour of Suzdal will bring many discoveries, because today there are five monasteries in the city, and four of them are within walking distance from each other.
