Description of the attraction

Pascal's house can be called a real masterpiece of architecture. This building was declared a cultural monument of national importance, here you can trace the transition from the traditional rural way of life to the urban and European way of life of local residents after the Liberation from Turkish slavery (1878).

Pascal's house has two floors, it is an asymmetrical building with a good functional distribution. A semicircular bay window gives the building aristocracy, and thanks to the beautiful carved ceilings, doors and wardrobes, coziness and warmth are created, and decorative niches, or alafrangs (translated "in French") complement the interior well and, in addition, give to him exclusivity and sophistication.

The exposition, which is located in the house-museum, includes various examples of the way of life of the inhabitants of this area of that period. On the ground floor there is an exhibition introducing the everyday life of a Haskov family.

In the Pascal House Museum, minders (benches located along the walls) in the main room are adjacent to exquisite Viennese furniture, and next to European silverware you can see a Russian samovar … All this is complemented by traditional Haskov rugs and rugs in bright multicolored stripes, creating a composition into which a local needlewoman put her soul and a subtle sense of beauty.
