Description of the attraction

Mogilev Regional Art Museum named after Maslennikov was opened on November 19, 1990. On January 22, 1996, the museum was named after the Belarusian artist, painter, art critic Pavel Vasilyevich Maslennikov.

A building was allocated for the museum - an architectural monument of the XX century, built in the Russian Art Nouveau style. Previously, it housed a branch of the peasant land bank. After the revolution, the first people's museum of proletarian culture was opened in the bank's premises, and then the historical museum, which existed in this building until 1932.

The museum collection consists of works of realistic art of the 17th-19th centuries, as well as old Belarusian icons. But the main pride of the museum is the collection of works by Belarusian artists V. K. Byalynitsky-Biruli, V. Kudrevich, A. Barkhatkov, V. Gromyko, M. Belyanitsky, P. Maslenikov, L. Marchenko, N. Fedorenko, F. Kiselev, G. Kononova, M. and G. Tabolichey, V. Yurkova, V. Shpartov, V. Rubtsov and others. The Maslennikov gallery exhibits paintings by Pavel Vasilyevich.
