Description of the attraction

White Rocks are located on the outskirts of the resort of Byala, almost 60 kilometers from Varna. It is a key attraction in an already picturesque area. The White Rocks Nature Reserve is a limestone continuous massive geological profile that was discovered by Australian geologist Anton Prizinger.

The municipality of Byala took the initiative and launched a project aimed at preserving this unique natural landmark. This area has been a natural reserve since 2001. Near the city's central square there is an exhibition and information stand of the reserve, where you can learn more about the genesis of the White Rocks. No less attention is paid to the place that rocks occupy in the world history of the formation of the earth's crust.

The rocks are silent witnesses of major natural disasters, which, according to European scientists, completely destroyed the era of dinosaurs. In addition, White Rocks is, in essence, a natural geological museum, which allows you to trace the different periods of the existence of the Earth's crust.

In addition to the rocks themselves, an ancient system of fortification ramparts from the end of the 7th century has been preserved on the coast. Not far from the village you can see the ruins of a Roman fortress.
