Description of the attraction

Eagle rocks hang over the crooked side of the Agura river valley, not far from the famous Agur waterfalls. The cliffs are sheer limestone walls with a height of over 200 m.

There are two ways to get to the rocks, where, according to the locals, Prometheus was chained. One path leads from the Agursky gorge, past the waterfalls. Another path leads towards the first one, from old Matsesta. It takes about an hour to get to the top of the Eagle Rocks (379 m above sea level). There is a sculpture of Prometheus breaking the chains.

There is an observation deck on the top of the rocks, from where a beautiful view of our West Caucasian three-thousand-peaks opens up - the Chugush mountains, Northern Pseashkho, Sugar Loaf. Opposite is the cone of the wooded mountain Bolshoy Akhun (663 m), and below, at a depth of 250 m, the Agura river runs along the bottom of the gorge. All its waterfalls are visible. If you wish, you can go down to them along the path. And then, after swimming, get off to the Agura bus stop to return to Sochi.
