Description of the attraction
Porto Katsiki is one of the best beaches not only in Greece, but throughout Europe. It is located on the southwestern coast of the picturesque island of Lefkada, about 40 km from the capital of the same name, not far from the village of Afani.
Unusually beautiful majestic cliffs, forming a picturesque arc, in combination with almost white soft sand, crystal-clear azure waters of the Ionian Sea and green surroundings create a truly magical, stunningly beautiful landscapes of Porto Katsiki.
Its original name "Porto Katsiki", which means "goat beach", this place did not receive by accident, since it was previously very difficult to get to this paradise surrounded by sheer snow-white cliffs and it was believed that only goats could overcome such a route … Today, you can go down to the beach using a specially equipped staircase, which is cut right into the rock.
Porto Katsiki is an organized beach. If necessary, you can rent sun loungers and sun umbrellas, and upstairs there are cozy taverns and cafes where you can have a great lunch.
Porto Katsiki beach is rightfully considered one of the main attractions of the island of Lefkada. Excellent natural landscapes and clean air annually attract a huge number of tourists here, so you will hardly be able to relax in silence and fully enjoy the unity with nature. However, the fantastic scenery of Porto Katsiki is definitely worth seeing.
You can get to the beach by car (there is a small parking near the descent to the beach), as well as by sea taxi, which runs regularly from the towns of Nidri and Vasiliki.
