Description of the attraction

Agios Georgios is one of the most famous and popular beach centers of the island of Naxos. It is located on the west coast of the island just 300-400 m south of the port of Chora (the administrative center of the island also known as Naxos).

A magnificent beach with fine golden sand with a length of about 1 km, crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, well-developed infrastructure and, of course, close proximity to the capital attract thousands of tourists from all over the world from year to year. Given the very convenient gentle entry into the water, Agios Georgios is perfect for vacationers with small children.

A large part of the beach is equipped with sun loungers and sun umbrellas, which can be rented for a moderate fee, but overall there is enough space to sit on the soft warm sand. Active guests can enjoy a variety of water sports here. Agios Georgios Beach is one of the best windsurfing spots on the island.

Right on the beach, you will find several excellent taverns and restaurants where you can dine while enjoying traditional local cuisine and scenic panoramic views, as well as many cafes and bars for refreshing drinks and snacks. There is a good selection of excellent hotels and comfortable apartments near the beach. However, you can stop in the Chora itself.

Despite the fact that the beach of Agios Georgios is quite large, it is always crowded here (especially on weekends), so lovers of silence should look for a more secluded place.
