Description of the attraction
The Museum of the Cement Industry in the city of Novorossiysk is the only museum of this subject in the world. It was founded in February 1977 thanks to the initiative of Novorossiysk cement workers. The museum opened its doors to visitors in August 1979.
This unique and original museum is located in a historical building near the Proletary plant. The total area of the museum is about 800 sq. M. Today in the fund of the museum of the cement industry there are more than 47 thousand museum exhibits, many of them are unique.
In 10 exhibition halls, a huge amount of material is presented, widely illustrating the history of the development of this industry in Novorossiysk and throughout the country as a whole. Museum expositions tell visitors about the people who built cement plants, worked for them, defended them during the hard times of war, and revived them from the ruins in the post-war period. The operating models and layouts of equipment presented in the museum visually and in detail acquaint guests with the technology of cement production.
The Cement Industry Museum was able to preserve the traditions that were laid by its founders, and continues to accumulate museum funds from the standpoint of documenting the historical processes of the development of the cement industry. The museum is a source of knowledge on the history of cement plants not only in the city of Novorossiysk, but also in the country as a whole. Various thematic excursions are held here, during which you can hear the whole history of the cement industry and get acquainted with the technique and technology of cement production.
A branch was opened at the Museum of the Museum of the Cement Industry - the memorial museum-apartment of the famous Soviet writer F. V. Gladkov. Every year the museum is visited by thousands of local residents and city guests.
