Description of the attraction

The Belosaraysky Ornithological Reserve was established relatively recently - in 1995. As the name suggests, it is located on the spit of the same name in the Sea of Azov. The alluvial sand spit, which goes into the sea for fourteen kilometers, boasts a unique climate and clear water, which attracts a large number of birds. This place has long been chosen by gulls and mallards, sandpipers, swans and other species of birds arriving for nesting. So if you want to admire the free flight of seagulls or the mallard ducks slowly paced along the shore - welcome to the Belosaraysky Ornithological Reserve. In addition, the Belosaraiskaya Spit is also a landscape reserve of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, there are many lakes, one of which is especially popular with swans. It is called that - Swan. Here you can also see the largest heron settlement in the Northern Azov region.

Due to the fact that the spit boasts a unique ecosystem of wetlands - it is also called the island of Mediterranean flora and fauna. It is home to a large number of not only birds, but also animals. Fishing enthusiasts are attracted by the clear coastal waters full of fish. And for those who prefer ecological rest - sandy beaches and untouched nature.

The reserve was created with the aim of preserving this unique natural area. The Belosaraiskaya Spit is being built up with hotels and holiday resorts; more and more people come here for the summer. On the one hand, such a development of tourism contributes to the prosperity of the region as a whole, on the other hand, there is less and less free space for birds. Therefore, if you decide to visit an ornithological reserve, respect them and their habitat. And your children and grandchildren will thank you for keeping the unique inhabitants of this corner for them.
