Description of the attraction

Museum-estate "Pruzhany Palace" - an architectural monument of the XIX century. The building was built in the Italian style, which is quite unusual for Belarusian estates - it is a country villa in the early Renaissance style. On all sides, the light, light palace is surrounded by a shady park with a pond and a network of canals through which graceful bridges are thrown.

The estate belonged to Valenty Shvykovsky, who inherited it. The new owner was fascinated by the old park and started a big change. He demolished a dilapidated wooden house, donated back in 1795 by Catherine II to Field Marshal of the Russian troops, Count P. A. Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky together with the estate. In its place, the famous Italian architect Francisco Maria Lanzi, specially invited to Pruzhany, built the magnificent Pruzhany Palace.

Unfortunately, the Pruzhany Palace did not bring happiness to its owners. Valenty Shvykovsky took part in the 1863 uprising and was exiled. The estate was described and dilapidated. Its subsequent owners did not live in the estate, did not repair the castle.

The abandoned castle was noticed only in 1993. Then a large-scale reconstruction was carried out here. Not only the palace was restored, but also the old park. At the moment, the area of the park is 8 hectares. The palace houses a museum. The exposition area is 382 square meters. The main exhibition halls: Salon, Flower Hall, Armorial Hall, Hunter's Office, Nature Hall, Ethnographic Hall, exhibition halls where art exhibitions are held.

In recent years, the Pruzhany Palace has become a social and cultural scientific center. It hosts concerts, literary evenings, scientific conferences.
