Description of the attraction
The Caliph palaces of the desert are another attraction of the country. There are about 30 residences (Qasr Amra, Qasr Harran, Qasr Mushatta, Qasr Halabat, Bair, Mafrak, Mushash, Muwakkar, Tuba, Azraq castle, etc.), once buried in greenery and flowering gardens, and irrigated with the help of original irrigation structures, some of which have survived to this day. Very interesting are the unique frescoes and mosaics in Qasr Amra (VIII century, included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List), which are one of the best-preserved examples of early Islamic painting.
