Description of the attraction

The Museum of Retro Cars, which is the only one in Ukraine, is located in Zaporozhye. It is also called the “Permanent Exhibition of Automotive Equipment and Weapons”. The museum was founded in February 2008. A well-known organization - the Phaeton Automobile Club - put its efforts to its opening.

The museum occupies a considerable area - about 300 square meters, on which there are 22 various models of auto and motor vehicles of the 30-60s. Also presented are two dozen samples of small arms and artillery weapons. The walls are decorated with interesting posters that take you back in time.

In this museum you can see a unique vehicle-exhibit - the ZiS-5 truck, which was released in 1939, it is a kind of visiting card of this regional center. At the southern entrance to Zaporozhye there is a similar car on the pedestal of the monument to soldiers-motorists. But the museum exhibit differs from its counterpart in that it still drives and is a kind of particle of that era or just a “time machine” in which you can travel back in time.

Also in the museum there is a legendary exhibit of the well-known "Katyusha" - it is completely identical to the real one and is the only such exhibit on the territory of all of Ukraine.

Zim (GAZ-12) is a popular car of the 50s of the last century. Only 21,527 copies of such cars were produced. And in this museum you can also see this rare car completely restored.

Also here are presented not only domestic cars, but also cars that were supplied to the Soviet Union by the allies during the Great Patriotic War - DodgeWC-51, Willys, GMC-353.

A very extensive library of historical and technical literature has been created on the basis of the museum.
