Description of the attraction
On the southeast coast of La Digue Island, which is the epitome of tropical paradise, lies the Grand Anse Bay. This sun-drenched beach is quite remote from the popular tourist areas, which keeps it less visited and quieter. From the city of La Paz, you can take a taxi or walk about four kilometers to the coastline.
Grand Anse is the longest beach of all on La Digue Island. The vibrant combination of greenish-blue water and the blinding whiteness of fine sand is typical of Seychelles beaches. There is absolutely no infrastructure on the Grand Anse, so those who go here to sunbathe and swim should take care of drinking water and protection from the sun, because, apart from the massive casuarina tree, there is not so much vegetation where you can hide.
It is not recommended to visit the bay for swimming in the period from April to October, during the southeastern monsoons, when there are very strong sea currents. during the southeast monsoon, from April to October.
