Description of the attraction

According to oral tradition, the Trinity Church in the village of Miritinitsa was erected in 1783. The church was built by the local landowner Semyon Petrovich Porokhov. The church is built of bricks, located in the very center of the village on a high hill, from where a very beautiful view of the lakes opens, the closest of which is Lake Allé.

The church has three thrones: Trinity - the main one, Kazan - warm, Nikolsky - temple. There were no extensions to the church. The floor in the church is wooden; there is a five-tiered wooden iconostasis. The choirs are located above the side-altars, their height from the floor is 8 fathoms.

The stone bell tower was built in connection with the church. You can get into it through the choir on the west side of the church. The bell tower was built of bricks together with the church, pillar-like, there are six bells on the bell tower.

In plan, the church is symmetrical about the longitudinal axis, of the "octagon on a quadruple" type. There is a porch under the bell tower, which is open on three sides, there are small ladders. In the vestibule there are two large pillars carrying longitudinal beams. The room is divided by beams into three naves, which are covered with small corrugated vaults. In the wall on the west side there is a staircase leading to the bell tower and the choir. Above the narthex is the choir room. The double-height quadrangle, through the trumpets, passes into the octal, which is covered with a faceted hipped roof. Outside, the walls of the vestibule and the quadrangle are dissected by pilasters. The windows in two rows are decorated with simple platbands. The facades are horizontally dissected with carved belts. The entire decor is made of shaped bricks. The octagon is decorated with pilasters at the corners, in the walls between the windows. The bell tower is decorated with pilasters, cornices and niches. Along with the arched openings on the ringing, there are elliptical and round openings. There are two large bells and eight echoes.

The iconostasis in the temple is meager. The original iconostasis has been lost. In the restored iconostasis, some icons date back to the 18th century. There are no miraculous icons. From the inside, the church is finished with plaster and whitewashed. Stone foundation - cement mortar. The floor is wooden. The roof is covered with iron.

There is a sundial on the southeast side behind the church. The clock is made from a huge boulder. The hand of the clock has been lost, but the "dial", knocked out on the stone, is clearly visible. The watch was made in 1803. They showed the correct time by the sun, showed the latitude and north-south direction. Also clearly preserved is the inscription: "The village of Miritinitsy was made by N. P. 1903", judging by the preserved monogram, it was probably done by the same Nikolai Semenovich Porokhov.

Near the Trinity Church, three hundred meters away, there is the Church of Mary of Egypt. This stone church was built in 1791 by the son of the organizer of the Trinity Church - Nikolai Semenovich Porokhov. The church has one altar and a stone bell tower. The stone bell tower had three bells. At first, only funeral services were performed in the church, then church services began to be held on the patronal feast day. The church did not have its own clergy and utensils, the services were performed by the priests of the Trinity Church. In Soviet times, the church was badly disfigured. It was restored by clergyman Alexander Nikiforov after 2002. Since April 2007 it is valid. The bell tower has not survived. The chapter is also lost. It is the only church in the area dedicated to Mary of Egypt.

Both churches are functioning. Near the village there is a source of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God; a chapel is defined above it.
