Description of the attraction

The Ethnographic Museum in Kavarna was opened in 1984. The main part of the exposition is located in a beautiful two-story old house, which is an architectural monument of the 19th century. Previously, the building belonged to a wealthy family. From 1896 to 1969, the first Bulgarian school was located here in the city of Kavarna. At the end of the twentieth century, the house was restored and turned into an ethnographic museum of urban life. There are also a number of small outbuildings and a garden on the territory of the museum complex.

Visitors to the ethnographic museum of the town of Kavarna can get acquainted with the peculiarities of life and culture of a typical representative of the local region of the 19th century. Inside the building, the authentic interior and furnishings have been partially preserved: pieces of furniture, decorative elements, dishes, personal belongings of the former owners of the house, etc.

One of the rooms is decorated as an old craft workshop: here you can see both the tools with which they sewed, knitted and engaged in other activities, as well as the results of this work - carpets, lace, fabrics, ceramic and metal dishes, etc. In addition, the exhibition samples of traditional national clothes are presented.
