Description of the attraction
Intendance Bay is a popular wild beach in the south of Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles. This white sandy beach is framed on each side by granite formations and is considered one of the most beautiful places on the island.
Getting to Anse Intendance is very easy by bus or car. A bus stop and car park are located very close to the coastline. The Banyan Tree Resort is located in Anse Intendance, and is the only infrastructure in the entire bay, apart from a small bar that sells snacks and cold drinks.
A beautiful white sandy beach, turquoise water, combined with dense thickets and massive granite formations create a picture from an advertisement for a heavenly holiday. There is no coral reef in the bay, so the transition to depth is rather abrupt, and from May to September, during the southeastern trade winds, there are strong waves. The bay is a great surfing spot and you can always sunbathe on the beach.
During those times when the bay is not suitable for swimming, it is an ideal place for romantic picnics.
