Description of the attraction
Arctic Park Polaria, established in 1997 by the Norwegian Department of the Environment, is part of the Polar Research Center.
The building of the museum has a non-standard shape: it is made in the form of ice blocks. Inside the museum there is a panoramic cinema, a model of the coast with the Northern Lights, aquariums with inhabitants of the northern seas. Visitors show great interest in bearded seals, popularly called bearded seals, thanks to their good disposition and intelligence. The unusual architecture and the typical inhabitants of the Barents Sea and Svalbard have made the museum a major attraction in Tromsø.
After watching a panoramic film about Arctic Norway, you will take an aerial helicopter trip over the shores of the rugged and extraordinarily beautiful Svalbard - the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago.
The museum shop sells exclusive and themed souvenirs.
